Addressing the need for an AI-driven solution in the marble industry

Interior designers and architects frequently struggled to find marble designs that perfectly matched their creative vision. The traditional selection process was cumbersome; requiring visits to multiple suppliers, browsing through extensive catalogs, and relying on subjective descriptions.

Moreover, determining the exact quantity of marble needed for a particular design was an additional hurdle. Designers had to manually estimate measurements, coordinate with multiple vendors, and often deal with discrepancies in stock availability, leading to costly miscalculations and unexpected shortages.

Without a centralized digital platform, designers faced ongoing challenges in accessing real-time inventory information, comparing various options, and visualizing how marble would appear in different settings. This approach created significant inefficiencies and project delays, often forcing designers to make last-minute compromises.

Our client envisioned an innovative solution: a dedicated AI-powered platform to transform the marble selection process for both design professionals and end users. The platform would feature an AI-based image search, allowing users to upload reference images and instantly find similar marble patterns from the available inventory. Additionally, a real-time inventory management system would ensure seamless stock updates, preventing mismatches between demand forecasting and availability.

At the outset, Daffodil Software was required to:

Developing an AI-driven experience design solution for architects and interior designers

Team Daffodil kickstarted the project by working closely with the client to gain a deep understanding of their business requirements, challenges, and vision for an AI-driven experience design platform. The goal was to create a seamless digital solution that allowed interior designers and architects to search for marble designs effortlessly while ensuring efficient inventory management.

To achieve this, we developed a responsive web and mobile application using Angular and Ionic, ensuring a consistent user experience across devices. For the backend, we leveraged Python and NodeJS to build a scalable and high-performing architecture capable of handling large image datasets and real-time inventory updates. We also built an AI-based visualization using a pre-trained model, enabling users to upload reference images and instantly find matching marble patterns.

To further enhance the user experience, we integrated AR/VR capabilities – allowing architects and interior designers to visualize marble designs in real-world settings before making a purchase decision. We also developed an admin portal using Python to streamline the management of architects and interior designers. This portal provided the client with comprehensive control over user mapping, product listings, and customer interactions. To enhance operational efficiency, we also integrated SAP for seamless inventory management, order tracking, and enterprise resource planning.

Designing Project Management Module

We integrated a comprehensive project management feature, allowing interior designers and architects to create and manage multiple design projects seamlessly. This functionality enables users to apply various marble options to project images, experiment with different configurations and save their preferred selections. With real-time editing and updating capabilities, designers can modify projects on the go. Additionally, we implemented a collection system, making it easier to organize, access, and compare different designs efficiently.

Room Visualization (TrueView Integration)

To enhance the visualization experience, we employed TrueView, enabling users to upload images of their rooms or choose from a library of demo rooms. This feature allows designers to apply different marble options in real time, providing an accurate preview of how each design transforms the space. We also integrated an interactive slider tool that lets users compare different options side by side, ensuring they can make informed decisions before finalizing their selections.

Product Selection and Customization

We incorporated a robust product catalog that offers a detailed selection of marble slabs, complete with high-resolution images and comprehensive descriptions. This feature allows users to browse, compare, and apply various marble variations to their project images. To enhance user convenience, we implemented a “Favorites” option, enabling designers to save their preferred products for quick access, streamlining the selection process and making project execution more efficient.

Bookmatch Application

To help designers achieve perfect symmetry in their designs, we introduced a Bookmatch feature that enables users to visualize mirrored and symmetrical patterns for marble slabs. This feature allows designers to adjust pattern alignments to suit their aesthetic preferences, ensuring a flawless final look. Once the desired alignment is achieved, users can save and apply the Bookmatch settings directly to their projects, maintaining consistency across multiple design elements.

Order Management

The Order Management feature allows admins to track and manage incoming orders seamlessly. This system enables easy viewing and updating of order statuses, ensuring smooth processing and timely fulfillment. It also provides an overview of all customer orders, including order details, payment status, and shipping information, to maintain clarity and avoid errors in the order-handling process.

Architect Management

The Architects Details section was integrated to provide admins with an organized and efficient way to manage architect and interior designer profiles. Admins can view, update, and track relevant details of all registered professionals, including their contact information and project history. This ensures easy communication and provides a clear overview of user activity on the platform.

Slab Information

To manage marble inventory, we introduced a detailed slab information section which included essential data for tracking each marble slab. Each slab was assigned a unique identifier (number) for easy tracking. The unit of measurement was displayed, alongside the area of the slab which helped in determining material availability. The current storage location was noted, ensuring easy retrieval of slabs for order fulfillment. Additionally, the primary color of the slab and its source of origin were listed to help admins track the specifics of each lot and ensure transparency in sourcing and inventory management. This feature simplified the process of managing and allocating inventory effectively.
